The Apocalypse Inside of an Orange is the most recent studio release from the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Quintet. The double LP is expected to be released on vinyl November 20, 2007. It is one of a series of albums recorded by the quintet in 2005 and features an unreleased version of the song Jacob van Lennepkade, which originally appeared on the album Omar Rodriguez.

Releases like
this is why N2O is not a jungle label and you should not categorize
N2O as a limited sounding jungle label. Yeah, they are the big
dogs of jungle but their sound just goes way more further than
any jungle label out there. I mean shit they put out DJ Shiro
and also the very first Shapeshifters album. Now Pagoda Sound
System is an offshoot of something that the Scientist or the
Mad Professor would do. Heavy dub and reggae influences throughout
this massive EP on orange vinyl.
If you like tripped out samples from talk radio and old cartoon
samples, then this EP is for you. Hip hop and garage rock fuels
the underground sound as well. Pagoda recently went on tour
with N2O in Japan and they rocked the crowd with some deep ass
dancehall. Run with the N2O sound and take it in full effect,
this Pagoda Ep can really open your mind. A good one to buy
doubles of... we love the transforming and real time dj effects
throughout this release. It makes you want to go out and produce
some tracks. |
