#0 = Sid Wilson = DJ Starscream
After 4 long years, finally Sid Wilson1s debut solo unmasked album is
unleashed and ready to bring the moshed up full length album "The
New Leader" on N2O Records. Well known for being the world's most
famous rockstar DJ Sid Wilson #0 of Slipknot, Starscream brings his aggressive
DJ & Production style with an indepth knowledge of hip hop and metal.
Get ready for the moshed up sound from a world class DJ that holds the
line in a real metal band.
Executive Producer - N8LOC Shimizu
Producer - DJ Starscream (Sid Wison)
This album will immediately appeal to all metal and hip hop fans that
demand more aggressive moshed up sounds. Well known for being the world's
most famous rockstar DJ, Sid Wilson #0 of metal band Slipknot, Starscream
brings his aggressive DJ & Production style with an indepth knowledge
of hip hop, metal, and breaks. As a DJ, he is one of 5 dj's in the world
sponsored by Vestax. He is the only dj in the world that can induce mosh
pits from mixing and scratching records on turntables! He recently was
a Grammy Award recipient as part of Slipknot's best metal album VOL. 3
SUBLIMINAL VERSES. His debut solo album, "The New Leader" is
an all-out mash up of his music, style and attitude... just plain genius.
The Starscream sound is something we've coined as 3MOSH UP2 and 3FULL
METAL JUNGLE,2 a mixture of drum and bass, hip hop, Squarepusher, J-Pop,
punk, metal, and reggae. Think of it as Bad Brains meets The Prodigy and
DJ Krush. Thick aggressive slabs of turntablism, hip hop, reggae, metal,
classical style songs rip open the dark, bloody, and emotional Starscream
sound on this album. The cd features metal-jungle style remixes of Rob
Gee's "Riot in NY," Reggae superstar Anthony B's "Come
On," & Japan's pop rock heroes Smorgas. Mixtape style shoutouts
& drops add authentic "old school DJ" flavor to the
album. Get ready for the darker side of metal mash ups. A huge record
for all fans of metal, jungle and mash up fans looking for more ruffness.
Starscream1s discography includes hip hop remixes with Necro, Subliminal
Verses, Slipknot, 9.0 Live, Iowa, Full Metal Scratch-It, KC/UF remixes,
Stone Sour, Live In New York, Abunaii Sounds, Sound Assault, and Come
On Remix featured on Bass Odyssey1s Ragga Party Mash Up cd.
Tracklisting:

GENERAL
MALICE - THE FINAL TAKEOVER ALBUM - |
|
|
There's
always the question about the quality of music within the drum 'n bass scene.
You've got your purists. You've got your haters. You've got your enthusiasts.
And then you've got the ones that rise up above all - the leaders of the
new sound; the ones that take the music to the next level.
Clint Harley Ward, A.K.A. General Malice has had a dream of innovating the
drum 'n bass scene to a point that no one has touched before. As a significant
figure on the notorious Big Cat Records in Japan and a rising star on Nitrous
Oxide Entertainment in the United States, Malice has always stayed true
to his experimental sound, mashing up hip-hop, amen-ridden jungle, reggae
and metal within a single track while turning bass-craving junglists into
"rabid monsters of the pit."
His latest album, "Final Takeover," is based around a style dubbed
"extreme reggae, dancehall, IDM-style mash-up" and features twelve
original tracks, each with a different sound than the one previous to it.
This album will be available on March 14, 2006 as a CD and Three-piece vinyl
set and will be available at all major retailers including Best Buy, Virgin,
HMV and Tower.
General Malice is the true underground hero of the next generation of DIY
producers that mash out the sounds of reggae/IDM/jungle/hip hop/ dancehall
with fresh new concepts and club moshing agression. With over 35 hits on
the Japanese label Big Cat, his sound has inspired a nation of mash-up junkies.
Think of General Malice as a darker roughneck version of Prefuse 73, or
if Rise Against was more bass driven, or if Squarepusher had more radio
anthem driven dancefloor killers, and that's where you will find General
Malice's sound.
Bringin' influences from the legendary Gangstarr, Kraftwerk, Slayer, Remarc,
Ludacris, Ray Keith, DJ Shadow, Lee Perry, and Massive B, this young gun
DJ+Producer rages hard and rough enough for the next sound with international
all-star guests KRS-1, The NIPPS, and General Jah Mikey. It's punk fueled
eletronica with a solid reggae & indie rock consistency. If IDM jungle/drum
and bass were ever to break into cross-over mainstream, one would reference
General Malice's "Final Takeover" album as being the "one
that put it on the map." It is the first ever American reggae jungle
mash-up album. |

Ragga
Party Mash Up mixed by Bass Odyssey
N2O-94 CD
Produced by N8LOC Shimizu, Recorded and mixed in Kingston, JA
National Release Date March 14, 2006
The word from the street, "They want it HARDER and FASTER!"
N2O Records brings the hardcore dancehall mix for 2006! R.P.M.- Ragga
Party Mix straight from J.A. to L.A. all the way to Japan, this CD will
hit the hardcore pum-pum the way they like it. With a roster of vocalists
Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Sizzla, Anthony B, Bounty Killer and more, you
can't deny the all star line up in here. R.P.M. also features a bonus
drum and bass reggae Anthony B mash-up remix from superstar DJ Starscream
of metal band Slipknot. Add in the shocking Japanese soundclash style
graphics, this cross culture mash up of sights and sounds will open up
a new market, freshen up reggae, and mash the system with the rough new
dancehall N2O Sound. This is the debut cd for Next Generation Bass Odyssey.
Bass Odyssey has brought a history of soundclash and high quality DJ skills
to the world of reggae and dancehall. The original Bass Odyssey crew was
founded in 1988 by Stephen "Bunny" Hayles, Keith "Wally"
Walford and Winston "Stan" Errar. The soundsystem was originated
in Duhaney Park in Kingston and built by BunnyIn the early days, because
of the massive soundclash competition in Kingston, the crew moved to St.
Ann and established itself as the mightiest soundsystem in St. Ann Kingston
and renamed themselves the "One Rock Sound." The first popular
DJ selector in Bass Odyssey was "Thinner One" who gained worldwide
success by out-juggling and winning each and every soundclash at the time.
After "Thinner One" came "DJ Glama G" who revolutionized
dancehall in Jamaica with his superb juggling skills and brought Bass
Odyssey huge notoriety in dancehall.
In 1996 Bunny renewed the group as "Next Generation Bass Odyssey"
consisting of all new selectors DJ Ali Patch, DJ Kitt, Geldon, DJ Dujon,
DJ Neil Diamond, and Killer Blacks. With this new crew of young guns,
NG Bass Odyssey was able to defeat the "Mighty Killer Black Kat"
(3x World Clash Champions) in Trinidad's soundclash in 2003. it was a
huge victory and NG Bass Odyssey and since then, they have been in high
demand for reggae fans in the USA, England, Japan, and Europe.
This original soundclash group is well known for opening up for huge shows
and reggae festivals featuring Sizzla, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Elephant
Man, Cutty Ranks, and almost every all star reggae performer to date.
While still edging over every sound system because of their new and classic
dubplates, NG Bass Odyssey comes with the longtime experience of it's
veteran crew members and will continue to rule the world of dancehall
soundclash. Establishing itself as one of the longest running reggae soundsystems,
Bass Odyssey moves into 2006 with a new rough and rugged Ragga Party Mash
Up cd mix on N2O Records.
